Power Dynamos surrendered a narrow advantage as they were held to a 1–1 draw by Kabwe Warriors in an MTN Super League encounter at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe, a result head coach Osward Mutapa later labelled disappointing.
Despite controlling large spells of the opening half, the hosts were unable to find a breakthrough before the interval. Defender Samuel Bamidele calmly slotted home from the penalty spot to put Power ahead.
Power dominated possession in the early stages and looked the more threatening side, but Warriors remained disciplined defensively and kept the hosts at bay throughout the first half.
One of the closest moments came just minutes into the match when Chifundo Mphasi whipped in a dangerous delivery, only for Warriors goalkeeper Mangani Banda to gather the ball with Moses Shumah waiting in the box.

Jackson Mulambia and Mphasi both went close before the break, yet Warriors stood firm to ensure the score remained goalless at halftime. Mutapa responded by introducing Ronel Manyanga in place of Mphasi at the interval.
Warriors, however, emerged with renewed intent and nearly took the lead shortly after the restart. Power goalkeeper Josphat Lilanda made two outstanding saves within three minutes to keep his side level.
In the 57th minute, Lilanda reacted quickly to block Timothy Sakala’s close-range effort before producing another fine one-on-one save to deny Saith Sakala moments later.
Power then gained the upper hand when Issa Kazembe brought down Manyanga inside the penalty area. The referee immediately awarded a spot kick, which Bamidele converted with confidence to hand the hosts the lead amid heavy rain.
The advantage proved short-lived as Warriors responded seven minutes later, Francis Banda rising highest to head home the equalizer from a set piece.
“Dropped points” Mutapa.
Seeking a late winner, Mutapa reshuffled his side, bringing on Salulani Phiri for Prince Mumba, Kapambwe Musonda for Fredrick Mulambia, and Brian Masanyinga in place of Daniel Adoko.
Although the draw felt like an opportunity missed, the result allowed Power to close the gap on league leaders Red Arrows to five points after the Airmen suffered a 3–1 defeat to Zesco United. Power now sits on 26 points.

Reflecting on the outcome, Mutapa expressed frustration at conceding from a dead-ball situation.
“It is disappointing that we conceded from a set piece when we were well organized. We dropped two points at home when we should have taken all three,” he said.
Power will now turn their attention to their next fixture against Zanaco on December 20, 2025, at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
