Power Dynamos head coach, Oswald Mutapa, has urged his team to remain consistent in their upcoming MTN Super League games after recording their second win of the season.
Following a winless run in four games and with pressure mounting on Mutapa from fans, Power Dynamos finally recorded a win after thumping Athletico Lusaka 5-0 at Arthur Davies Stadium on Saturday.
Austin Muwowo scored a brace while Kondwani Chiboni, Dominic Chanda, and John Soko added a goal each, securing the team’s second win in seven games.
They dominated most of the proceedings in the game, creating more chances, and managed to demolish a stubborn Athletico Lusaka side.
Mutapa reaction to big win
Mutapa praised the team for their good performance but urged them to continue scoring more goals.
“Not only challenging for the top spot but also challenging in terms of goals that we should be scoring.
“We created so many chances; similarly we lost to buffaloes when we created almost the same chances so if we are able to burry the goals that will be good, but again this is just the seventh game we keep pushing,” said Mutapa.
The former Nkwazi FC boss says the team needs to fight for a slot in this year’s Absa Cup Competition.
“This is a marathon it’s not a sprint we still have so many games, we need to push for a Absa slot. We started very well with an away game, but five games without a win I think we should get a leaf from here. Can we be consistent in terms of our performance and scoring goals,” concluded Mutapa.
With 10 points from seven games played, Power has now climbed to seventh place on the log. Following the international break, they will travel to Mazabuka to face FC Muza in a week eight match.
