Bilton Musonda has reportedly quit his position as head coach at the Northwestern-based Super League club.

The Uranium Boys are currently entangled in the relegation battle as they sit in 16th position with 31 points from 30 Super League matches. The club has 7 wins, 10 draws and 13 defeats.

BolaNews has learned that Musonda has handed in his resignation letter from the post of head coach. Musonda’s resignation is with immediate effect.

“Coach Bilton Musonda has handed in his resignation letter,” the source disclosed. “He has left Lumwana Radiants.”

Musonda joined Lumwana Radiants in April 2021 after leaving Green Buffaloes. The team went down to National Division One and he helped them win promotion to the Super League in the 2021/22 season, finishing first on the table.

The source has also disclosed that the club’s executive is currently meeting the players and will soon make an official announcement regarding the departure of Musonda.

“There is a meeting going on at the moment. The executive is meeting the players to discuss the latest development,” the source said.

It is reported that there has been a rift between the Bilton Musonda-led technical bench and the executive which has prompted the head coach to cut ties with the club.

“There has been lack of support to the technical bench from the Lumwana Radiants EXCO,” the source stated.

Lumwana suffered a 2-0 defeat in their last weekend against Forest Rangers. They have collected just 5 points in their last 5 Super League matches.
