He is more focused on helping Eagles win games than pursuing individual awards.

Green Eagles striker Simon Mulenga remains focused on improving his goal tally rather than fixating on the Golden Boot race, despite being tied at 10 goals with NAPSA Stars’ Godfrey Binga and Power Dynamos’ Titus Chansa.

With five matches remaining in the 2024/25 MTN Super League season, the three forwards are level at the top of the scoring charts. However, Mulenga is prioritizing personal growth and consistency over direct competition.

“I’m a player who doesn’t like putting pressure on myself by comparing myself to other players but would rather compete with myself and be a better player than I was in the previous games or season,” Mulenga said. “I will keep working hard and strive to score more goals in the remaining games, and if God is willing, I will win.”

Beyond the Golden Boot race, Mulenga acknowledged Green Eagles’ struggles in the second half of the season, which have sparked relegation concerns among supporters.

“As a team, we are very much aware and very concerned about the bad results we have been giving in the second round of this season,” he stated.

Determined to turn things around, Mulenga emphasized the team’s commitment to improving performances in the final stretch of the campaign.

“We promise to work extra hard for these remaining fixtures; every game is a must-win for us to turn things around, ensure we remain in the league, and get a better position on the table,” he added.
