After losing to Comoros in their opening game of the 2025 COSAFA, Harrison Chisala, a midfielder for Zambia’s national team, says the team is prepared to make amends when they play Botswana.
Following their 1-0 loss to Comoros on Friday night, the Chipolopolo boys had a dismal start to their 2025 Cosafa Cup campaign.
Speaking in an interview after a recovery session on Saturday morning, Chisala said the team has corrected their mistakes.
“Training went on well from the beginning of the session up to the end. All I can say is just concentration, the coach is always talking about consistency, and you saw the game we made a mistake on a set piece. We allowed a goal which was a set piece which was wrong, but the game was just okay,” he said.
“We created so many chances, but we couldn’t convert them, you know the coming game we are ready for the game, and we know we have missed the three points, but we are ready for Botswana,” noted Chisala.

In the meantime, the result of Monday’s game between Botswana and Comoros will determine Zambia’s prospects of making it to the Cosafa Semifinals.
Zambia will need to defeat Botswana at all costs in order to advance to the Semifinals, while a victory for Botswana could rekindle their chances. On Wednesday, the Chipolopolo boys will play their last group encounter against Botswana.
