FC Muza midfielder Kelvin Mwanza has admitted that it has been a tough season for him, as he has struggled to meet the club’s expectations.
Mwanza, who left FC Muza at the beginning of the season with hopes of joining Power Dynamos, found himself in a contract dispute with the Mazabuka-based side. The issue left him clubless for over two months.
After being instructed by the FAZ Disciplinary Committee to return to his club, the young midfielder has struggled to regain form and make an impact for his side.
Mwanza has had a quiet season at FC Muza, managing to score only three goals so far.
Previously a key player for The Elegant Dynamites, Mwanza was instrumental in helping the team qualify for their debut CAF Confederation Cup and also guided them to their first-ever ABSA Cup final.
Speaking exclusively to Bolanews, Mwanza revealed the challenges he has faced since rejoining the club.
“It has not been easy for me; I have been playing but it has just been hard for me to find the back of the net. I don’t know what the problem could be; I’m always almost there. I try my best but my end result is disappointing,” he said.
Despite his personal struggles, Mwanza remains optimistic about FC Muza’s survival in the top flight.
“The race may be tough for all the teams that have 38 points and below because anything can happen. But the chances of us remaining in the Super League are really high. We just have to work hard and we will definitely do that,” added Mwanza.
FC Muza currently sits 10th on the log with 38 points from 31 matches. The team has managed nine wins while drawing and losing eleven games each.
The Elegant Dynamites will face Nkwazi in their next Super League fixture this Saturday.
