Power Dynamos currently top the log with 63 points, while Nkana are third on with 54 points.

Kasonde, who joined Power Dynamos in 2005, stated in an interview with Bola News that the derby is not independent of the team’s form and position.

“The derby is one of the biggest in Africa,” Kasonde said, adding that he expects a large crowd that will generate an electrifying environment.

“This derby is the biggest derby in Zambia and also in Africa. It is about the city,” Kasonde said.

Because Power Dynamos always puts on strong performances, Kasonde has backed Aba Yellow to defeat Nkana on Sunday.

“I’m a childhood Power Dynamos fan, so I predict Power Dynamos will win with a 60% chance. Although before kickoff, it should be 50-50, but I’m putting my money on Power Dynamos,” he stated.

“I think power; they have been consistent. If you look at the performance, it’s just been good; the team has performed well. It’s very tricky because, with the capacity of the stadium, and some of the players will be nervous with the atmosphere.

“And it is a good derby in that Power Dynamos is almost winning the title. Winning this game will guarantee them being the champion for the 2024/25 season.”
