The Zambian Premier League’s ninth match week concluded with more draws than victories, as Kansanshi Dynamos prevented Green Buffaloes from winning three straight games in the season with a 1-1 stalemate.

When Power Dynamos and Zanaco squared off at Arthur Davies Stadium, both teams were hoping to take advantage of the draws made by teams in the top four.

Any victory would assure a spot in the top four and close the gap between the winning teams and the joint log leaders, Red Arrows and Kabwe Warriors.

After Austin Muwowo’s assist, Godfrey Ngwenwa, an improbable goal scorer, took advantage of a defensive lapse by the Zanaco club to give the home team the lead just over two minutes into the game.

Power Dynamos, coming off two straight losses, were going to pay a price for their defensive error as Zanaco equalized seconds later through a goal from Francis Mustafa.

While the game had calmed down, Brian Mwila and Charles Zulu had opportunities, but Zanaco maintained control of the situation and was not very effective in the goal.

Boyeli, who has been inconsistent since the beginning of the season, gave Dynamos a great opportunity to take the lead, but his choice to make the final move left the home crowd incensed.

The similar situation was the case in Lusaka as Kansanshi Dynamos denied Green Buffaloes a third victory in a role following a 1-1 draw.

In the first half, Yannick Mulenda gave Kansanshi Dynamos the lead, and two minutes later, John Kosamu gave the soldiers an equalizer.
