Zambian attacking midfielder Lazarous  Kombole has found his scoring boots again at Zesco United since his return to the Zambian Super League.

Kambole, who is on a six-month loan from Tanzanian club Young Africans to Zesco, was reunited with manager George Lwandamina, under whose tutelage he achieved the record for the fastest hat-trick in CAF Champions League history.

He scored three goals in five minutes against Mbabane Swallows in 2018 to help Zega Mambo win by three goals to nil in that match.

The 28-year-old midfielder left Zesco in 2019 to sign with South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs. After two unsuccessful seasons with the Soweto-based club, he moved to Young Africans.

While at Chiefs, Kambole managed to score only 2 goals in 46 appearances with one assist. This made many fans label him a flop.

In Tanzania, the former Chipolopolo midfielder made only one competitive appearance for Young Africans in the Mapinduzi Cup.

Kombole has now scored three goals in his last three appearances for Zesco since his return to Zambia.

He scored a brace on Sunday morning for Zesco in their continuation match against Green Eagles. The match ended 3-0 at the Levy Mwanawansa stadium.

With 30 points from 22 games, the Ndola-based team is currently in eighth place and aiming to finish in the top four.
