The nine times Zambian Champions have in the last two weeks being rocked by disciplinary issues ranging from Red cards, players going awol and alleged in house fighting amongst players but Kalengo has downplayed all that.
The former Zesco United striker who is now the club’s physical trainer dispelled the assertion, insisting that Zesco United is a disciplined side and that the recent cases of indiscipline in the team are part of the game of football.
Kalengo who was the stand-in coach over the weekend following the suspension of the club’s interim coach Alfred Lupiya after getting a red card in their previous game, also believes referees in the Super League have been making mistakes that have gone against them.
“Obviously sometimes, referees make mistakes especially on red cards, in the previous game against F.C MUZA when Gregory Sanjase was sent off, I think the referee made a mistake that wasn’t supposed to be a red card,” he sad.

When asked about the matching orders that coach Lupiya received after he was reported to have used unpalatable language towards the F.C MUZA technical bench, Kalengo further downplayed the situation and referred to it as a “small misunderstanding which is normal in football.”
” Coming to the red card of the coach, those things happen in football, there was just a small misunderstanding between the coach and the referee, nothing much,” added Kalengo.
The Ndola based side have had two players sent off this season in a space of one week.
The first Zesco United player to be shown a red card was midfielder Kelvin Mubanga Kapamba in a week 8 match against Napsa stars for violent conduct after involing himself in a physical fight with Daniel Adoko.
The second to be sent off was Goalkeeper Gregory Sanjase against F.C MUZA for handling the ball outside the box before coach Lupiya was also shown a red card in the same match.
There are also reports that the club’s first choice goalkeeper Ian Otieno has gone awol.
