After Kabwe Warriors failed to win the league the previous season, head coach Albert Kachinga says he is hopeful for a better showing in the new season starting this August.

Power Dynamos, the Kitwe giants, won the 2024–25 season, and the Magnificent People’s team finished on the 5th position on the log.

Kabwe Warriors’ 2025–26 campaign will begin at the Solwezi Independence Stadium on the road against the recently promoted Kansanshi Dynamos.

In an interview, Kachinga noted that the closing stages of last season were challenging for his side.

He pointed out the Napsa Stars match that resulted in the suspensions of most of their key players towards the end of the season.

“I think we had a big challenge; after the Napsa Stars games, we saw what happened. It was difficult for us to play the last three games since six of our players were suspended,” Kachinga said.

“We did a lot of reshuffles; we would get midfielders to play as defenders and strikers as midfielders, but we put up a good fight, as we only lost one out of the three matches considering the situation we found ourselves in.”

Kachinga, however, is optimistic about a successful 2025–2026 campaign and has advocated for proper preparations.

“Going forward, we now know what to do; we are hoping to do very well next season. All we need to do is prepare very well and plan well and see what happens,” he concluded.
