Kabwe Warriors head coach Numba Mumamba believes their home victory over the Red Arrows on Wednesday, after they denied them the opportunity to win their first Absa Cup title on Sunday, was a good one.
Warriors defeated the 2024 Absa Cup champions 1-0 at Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium through a 14th-minute goal by defender Killian Kanguluma to revenge their defeat in the ABSA Cup final.
Speaking to journalists after the game, Mumamba praised his team.
“A very good win, especially beating the Absa Champions and the league champions. We accounted for ourselves well; we started the game on a positive note; we dominated the proceedings and managed to get an early goal, which unsettled them; and finally, we got a win,” he said.
The former Zanaco boss is, however, worried about his striking force and has promised to work on the finishing.
“We still need to continue working on our finishing because this is where we continue lacking in the game. I think if we can improve on our scoring, then we will be good to go.
“I think the performance has been good; we just need to improve on our finishing. This is the only thing that has been a problem since the season started; otherwise, in terms of performance, the team has been doing very well,” noted Mumamba.
Kabwe Warriors are in sixth place, having earned 45 points from 31 matches so far.
The Magnificent People’s Team will face Mutondo Stars in their Week 32 match this weekend.
