Zambian Super League leaders ZESCO United have announced the re-signing of Kenyan striker Jesse Jackson WERE for a one-year contract from Kansanshi Dynamos FC.
WERE joined ZESCO from Kenyan Premier League side Tusker FC in 2016, and he went on to win four league titles, two ABSA CUP Championships, and two Charity Shields for the Ndola-based club.
The 34-year-old left ZESCO as the record goal scorer with 100 goals. He was also the first player to net 100 goals for the Electricity Men.
WERE left ZESCO in January 2022 to join Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club, but his impact at the Solwezi-based club was less, with only 8 goals and 6 assists for the Mabanga Boys in the 2022–21 season.

As Zesco seeks their tenth league title, the Geroge Lwandamina-coached team has re-signed WERE in the hopes of strengthening their attack after losing midfielder Kelvin Kampamba to Al-Nasser Ly SC.
The nine-time Zambian champions are reportedly set to sell striker Enock Sakala, who has piqued interest from Sundanese clubs.
