Green Eagles head coach Perry Mutapa insists that facing his brother, Oswald Mutapa, will be a special affair and says he is looking forward to walking away with all three points.
Defending champions Power Dynamos will face Green Eagles in a Week 16 MTN Super League fixture at Arthur Davies Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Green Eagles go into the match seeking a return to winning ways after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Mufulira Wanderers before the AFCON break.
The Choma-based side has, however, shown that they are strong travellers in previous matches and will be hoping to secure a positive result in Kitwe.
Eagles currently sit ninth on the league table with 19 points from 14 matches played so far.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Mutapa expressed confidence in his team’s form away from home.
“We are very ready, and it’s a fixture, which I think is very important for us on the road. I think we have done so well, and we hope we continue doing that,” he said.
“Football is a game of pressure, but we have to contain it, and for us it means a lot if we get the maximum points in this game. We know we are playing the current champions, and they are second on the log. It’s not an easy game, more especially playing at Arthur Davies, but we are geared for the game,” he added.
Mutapa also highlighted the uniqueness of facing his elder brother on the touchline.
“Yes, playing against my elder brother is not an ordinary fixture. Yes, I know it’s three points, one point, or zero points if you lose, but not many brothers as head coaches face each other in the world, not just in Zambia, so it’s a special fixture, and obviously we want to do well,” noted Mutapa.
After the Power Dynamos clash, Green Eagles will turn their attention to the military derby against Red Arrows, scheduled for Sunday at Choma Independence Stadium.
