Green Eagles Coach Alex Namazaba earned his first victory since his confirmation as the team’s head coach.
The Choma-based side defeated Kansanshi Dynamos 3-1 over the weekend to earn their first Super League victory in 2023.
Reacting to the win, Namazaba spoke about the impact of former Kaizer Chiefs and Baroka FC striker Lewis Macha, who signed last month.
Macha has been impressive since his return to the Zambian Super League, scoring three goals in his last four games including a brace on the weekend.
The 30-year-old Zambian striker spent a season at Kaizer Chiefs where he only made four appearances and never scored before moving to Baroka in 2018.
Macha left South Africa after only nine appearances and two goals for Baroka, and he has been a free agent since then.
Namazamba has since acknowledged and praised the instant impact of Macha at Eagles.
“Macha so far so good, and he is doing so well, he is the goal scorer, from the time he came he is still improving because he stayed for a long time without playing but he is doing fine and I’m happy for him,” he explained.
