MTN Super League side Forest Rangers assistant coach Manchi Janza was lost for words when asked what was wrong with his team following a run of six games without a win.
On Thursday, Forest dropped to the relegation zone after recording a 1–0 home loss to Green Eagles; it was a third straight defeat and a sixth match on the bounce without a win for the Ndola side.
Forest’s last win came on October 6, when they beat struggling Lumwana Radiants 2-1 at Dola Hill Stadium.
Janza, the younger brother of former Chipolopolo coach Honour, could not put his words together after the match.
“I don’t know how I can describe it, “ a dejected Janza said when asked to define the result. “Looking at the way we are playing and the chances we are creating, I don’t…it is difficult because we are doing everything.”
Difficult situation For Forest
For the stretch of the match, Forest were poised to get a point out of this game but 12 minutes from time, Simon Mulenga struck for Eagles. That goal proved to be the deciding factor.
“I don’t know how I can explain it, looking at the way we are conceding, you find that you are in control of the game, but one silly mistake, they get the goal,” he said.
He said his side is in a difficult situation.
“It is not easy, but it is manageable, of which it is just the mentality, it is a difficult situation where we are there, we are in the red zone so we just have to come up with a good mentality and see to it that we start picking up points,” Janza said.
Forest have a tough run of fixtures in the next three games. They face Nchanga Rangers, Mufulira Wanderers and defending champions Red Arrows.
