After defeating Power Dynamos, the defending league champions, 3-2, at Nakambala Stadium, FC MUZA moved up to third place in the Zambian Super League.

With the victory, FC MUZA will be well-positioned to contend for the runner-up spot (49 points) in the log and qualify for continental football for the second consecutive season.

In a Week 29 fixture when MUZA was awarded a penalty in the 84th minute, Nkwazi officials invaded the field, resulting in one abandoned match for MUZA that is pending the FA’s hearing.

Six minutes before regulation time, Mwiya Mwiya, who had scored the first for MUZA in the 7th minute, clinched the win for the Elegant Dynamites, negating a brace from Joshua Mutale in the 59th and 78th minutes of the second half.

With four games left, fourth-placed Dynamos, with 48 points from 30 matches, can still challenge for the second league spot.

Elsewhere at Shinde Stadium, legendary Mighty Mufulira Wanderers registered their first win in 8 league matches after beating Prison Leopards. Veteran Elijah Chikwanda hired by Prison in midweek as team technical director failed to inspire Leopards fighting relegation.

Evans Musonda (54) and Edward Lungu (62) scored for Mighty, who still remain in the D-Zone with 34 points.
