Head coach of MUZA football club Mathews Ndhlovu referred to the team’s 1–1 draw with Red Arrows as a beneficial “training” match in advance of the CAF Confederations cup Championship.

In the 14th minute, Red Arrows’ Ricky Banda put the 2021/2022 Super League Champions up against the run of play. However, in the 70th minute, MUZA FC’s super sub and Under 20 attacking prodigy Rickson Ngambi equalized the score with his first touch following a well-taken free kick.

Club Head Coach Mathews Ndhlovu told BolaNews that MUZA is focusing about the CAF Confederations Championship and that yesterday’s match against Red Arrows has helped the team prepare for the match this weekend.

“It was a fair result playing Red Arrows at home with some tension in between but I am proud of my players for rising to the occasion. It was not easy, but the game was a good training match ahead of the big one this weekend,” he said.

A hundred percent record so far FC MUZA 1-1 Zanaco, FC MUZA 2-0 Mutondo Stars including Red Arrows 1-1 FC MUZA.

“I think a point away and coming from behind against a team like Red Arrows it’s a bonus to the team, but we need to realize that you can lose sometimes in such situations,” he added.

Ndhlovu added that the team must solve difficulties encountered in yesterday’s match if they want to defeat the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Diables Noirs.

“They were some indicators that I think we should work on before we approach the (CAF) Confederations game especially defence balance as well as our abilities to score,” he said.

“We have researched on our opponents for the Continental encounter, and they are an experienced side on the continent. Having the first game to be played at home here in Zambia gives us the challenge of working extra hard and finish the game from here,” he said.
