Nkana skipper Harrison Chisala says he is delighted to have returned from injury after a long layoff that saw him miss several games for his side.
Two months ago, Chisala suffered an ankle injury on his right leg, something that saw him spend time on the injury table.
However, the skilled midfielder returned on Thursday when he came on as a substitute in the 4-1 win over relegated Indeni at Nkana Stadium.
He has exclusively told Bolanews in an interview that the plan is to stay fit for the rest of the season.
“I am happy; I feel better now,” he said. “It is good to be back after being away from the game for some time… I am also happy that despite my absence, the team has been doing well, which means we have some depth.”
He said he is looking to finish the season strong.
“I have to stay fit so that I can contribute to the team and achieve what we want to achieve. We have a lot of important games coming up both in the league and in the ABSA Cup so everyone needs to be in shape,” Chisala said.
The former under-20 midfielder hailed the fans for the goodwill.
“I received a lot of support from the fans when I was injured; they wished me well and I am happy that I am back. Nkana fans are always looking for the best for the team and as a player, that is a big boost,” he said.
