Newly signed Kabwe Warriors midfielder Edward Tembo has explained why he decided to join the five-time MTN Super League champions.
The former City of Lusaka captain, who recently completed his move to the Kabwe-based side, has had previously successful stints with Zesco United and Red Arrows.
During his stay at Zesco United, he won three league titles before adding another winner medal when Red Arrows won the 2021/22 Super League title.

The 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup winner has also had stints at Buildcon and most recently City of Lusaka.
He was one of the senior players at City of Lusaka as he captained the team, playing over 20 matches throughout the season.
Tembo has joined Warriors as a free agent following City of Lusaka’s decision to sell their National Division One League status, thus dropping to the Lusaka Division Four League.
Tembo talks move to Kabwe
Speaking in an interview, the 27-year-old has described Warriors as a big team with a huge fanbase and is ready to contribute to their success this season.
“Joining Kabwe Warriors is a great feeling, knowing that this is a very big team, the people’s team, and it has a very good fanbase,” Tembo said.
“I’m really looking forward to giving the fans what to cheer about and to perform and enjoy playing for this club. Otherwise, it’s been a great feeling to play against this team, and now coming to join the team, it’s a great feeling.”
The defensive midfielder has also made his intentions clear.
“Winning trophies with the team is one of the greatest things to do when you join a team. I think it is to win trophies, the Super League, the Absa Cup, including the Charity Shield, and now that they’ve included other cups to come ahead, I think winning trophies for the team will be the best thing ever,” he concluded.
