Israel Mwanza, assistant coach for Nchanga Rangers, says his team was unlucky to lose 2-1 to Kansanshi Dynamos in a Week 28 MTN Super League encounter at Nchanga stadium.

It’s the fourth loss for Brave Rangers in the league dropping to 5th place in with 43 points while Kansanshi Dynamos rose to 12th position with 32 points from 27 matches.

Beby Musangala gave the visitors the lead in the 25th minute before Kalonji Mwepu doubled the lead in the 62nd minute. Nchanga Rangers scored a consolation goal in the 90th minute through Davie Zulu.

In a post match interview, Mwanza said the team played well but they were unfortunate to concede the goals.

Despite dropping 14 points in the last six matches, Mwanza believes the team has a chance to rebound strong in their remaining six games.

“It’s very difficult to explain. If you saw this game which we played today, I think we played a good football” Mwanza said.

“We are remaining with six games, and the league is still on. We have to fight for a game which is coming. Today, we didn’t play according to what was planned. Them [Kansanshi], were on top of things and got an early goal that disturbed us.”

“Kudos to the boys” – Makinka.

Meanwhile, Kansanshi Dynamos assistant coach Dennis Makinka described the match as tough, adding that the players worked hard for the result.

“Kudos to the boys, they are working hard if you see in training, you see that these boys are giving everything,” he said.

“We all know where we are, the points are so close, so we need to pick every point possible, every point that we can pick. So this victory I think is a morale booster for us going into the next game.

“You know we are coming from another win we haven’t won three in a row so this one now it’s the second we’re looking forward to the next game.

Makinka is eyeing more away victories before the end of the 2025-26 Zambian Premier League season.

“We have our goals, we have plans and obviously plans are, is to start picking maximum points, especially when we travel away from home. We challenged the boys this week. Why should we just be winning at home and not away?” So today they gave it their all and they played like they were playing from home. You could see the confidence in knocking the ball.”
