A defender for Nkana football club Chitoshi Chinga says the team is under pressure to give the fans a win in every match following their return of fans to the stadium.

The 13-time Super League champions played their home games, including the Kitwe derby against Power Dynamos, at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

Nkana welcomed soccer fans to Nkana Stadium for the first time this season after serving a ban that prohibited them from admitting fans to the venue in the first round of the season.

In an interview with Bola News, Chinga said the team was aiming to reward the returning fans with a win.

After a lengthy period of their being denied entry to the stadium, Chinga stated, “I think the pressure we had was giving our fans a win, but unfortunately we couldn’t.”

Chinga, who recently switched from Forest Rangers to Kitwe, has so far played four matches for the Kalampa, who have recorded three victories and a draw.

He adds that he is excited to play for the league-record winners, Nkana.

“I feel so happy to be part of this great team, and it’s such a big honor to play for the biggest team in Zambia,” he said.

The hard-tackling defender is optimistic about Nkana’s return to glory days following a win over FC MUZA and a 1-all draw against Forest Rangers.

Chinga reunites with Bakala.

Chinga recently reunited with former coach Ian Bakala, who has described him as a brother figure and a role model.

Before leaving Forest Rangers, Bakala coached Chinga while at Dola Hill Stadium.

“He is not just a coach but a big brother to many, not just on the pitch but also outside. “So, when I had the chance of joining Nkana, I couldn’t refuse. He [Bakala] inspires me a lot because I grew up watching him, and he was a very good player. Who wouldn’t be inspired by such a great player as he was?”
