Former Chipolopolo defender Chintu Kampamba has returned to his home club, Kabwe Warriors, as the first assistant coach.

Kampamba, who previously served as head coach at City of Lusaka, has signed a three-month contract, subject to renewal based on performance.

The former AmaZulu defender joins newly appointed head coach Albert Kachinga, with Happy Sichikolo retained as the second assistant coach. Additionally, Derick Mulenga returns as the team’s physical trainer, while Mike Siame remains the goalkeeper coach.

“Kabwe Warriors Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Chintu Kampamba as first assistant coach,” the club stated.

Kampamba’s return marks his first stint with the club in nine years. He previously served as interim head coach in 2016, taking over from Mohammed Fathy. However, he was dismissed in 2017 after managing just one win, 10 draws, and four losses.

Now, alongside the rest of the technical bench, Kampamba is tasked with reviving the Warriors’ form and pushing for continental football.

Meanwhile, Kabwe Warriors secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Lumwana Radiants in a Week 29 midweek fixture, boosting their hopes of finishing in the league’s top two. They next face Mutondo Stars in their upcoming Super League clash.
