Kabwe Warriors head coach George Chilufya has urged his team to maintain focus after Sunday’s 3-2 loss to Zanaco at Sunset Stadium marked their first loss of the 2025–26 MTN Super League season.
Chilufya admitted his team lost their grip on the match after a bright start.
Kilian Kanguluma gave the visitors the lead in the eighth minute, but Eliya Mandanji equalized for the Bankers just before halftime.
“The boys showed character today. We led, but again we lost concentration toward the end of the first half,” he said.
Zanaco seized control early in the second half, with Mandanji completing his brace in the 55th minute before Dalitso Phiri added a third just four minutes later.

Despite a late response from Simon Tonga in the 81st minute, Warriors could not mount a comeback.
“We couldn’t settle early in the second half like we did in the first half. Those two goals disturbed our game plan,” Chilufya reflected.
While the result marked Warriors’ first loss of the campaign, it was also the first time they managed to score more than once in a league fixture this season. For Chilufya, that was a small positive to build on.
“It’s a work in progress. We have been scoring one goal, but today we got two. We just have to build on that one.”
Warriors will face Konkola Blades in a Week 7 fixture, with Chilufya emphasizing the need for sharper finishing.
“It gives us the kind of training that we should concentrate on before we play our next game. We go back again and work in front of the goal.”
