Buildcon were not yet in Solwezi by publication time with Kansanshi Dynamos confirming to BolaNews that they have not communicated with them as the host team.

A source has revealed that the players are boycotting the match due to the non-payment of salaries by the club.

Buildcon has allegedly not paid the players their winning bonuses for their rare 1-0 victory over Lumwana Radiants on 19 February 2023.

“The players boycotted the game against Kansanshi Dynamos due none payments of salaries,” the source said. “And the winning bonus against Lumwana Radiants. The game will be walkover.”

The source further tells BolaNews that the situation has left the coaching staff with no option as the players are not willing to travel and play the match without being settled their dues by the club.

“The coaches can’t push the players to play if they have refused,” stated the source.

Its also understood that some players have not returned to training since the 6-0 thrashing by Zesco United in their Week 28 Super League match.

What have the Buildcon and Kansanshi Club officials said?

Kansanshi Dynamos have disclosed to BolaNews that Buildcon have not communicated with them. The club says, they are not sure if their opponents will make it for the game.

“They haven’t communicated anything to us. We are on our way to the match venue…. And what we are hearing is that no one has seen them,” a club official has revealed.

In the build-up to today’s match against Kansanshi Dynamos, the Buildcon technical bench only had nine players who turned out for training sessions.

“Yes they have been training but this week, only 9 players reported for training,” BolaNews has been told. “Others were in Lusaka and didn’t report back after the Zesco United game.”

Efforts by the club President to resonate with the players fell on deaf ears.

It is also reported that Buildcon president Moses Mubanga promised to pay the players a certain amount this coming week but the players did not buy into the said assurance.

“The Club President wanted them to fulfill the fixture. He told the players that at the moment he doesn’t have money but he can give them something (money) next week….. But the players refused because he doesn’t live up to his words.”
