Napsa Stars head coach Sipho Mumbi has admitted that his side faces a tough test against an in-form Zanaco at their home ground.
Napsa Stars and Zanaco will clash in their Week 15 fixture on Thursday afternoon at Sunset Stadium.
The Pensioners have been inconsistent this season, managing just three wins, six draws and five defeats so far. They currently sit 12th on the table with 15 points from 14 matches.
Mumbi’s side will be hoping to build on their last outing before the AFCON break, where they recorded a 2–0 home victory over Kabwe Warriors.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Mumbi acknowledged Zanaco’s impressive form.
“Very crucial game, very important game for us. Of course we are going into this game as underdogs considering that Zanaco has been in top form, so we will make sure we play this game with so much caution—more especially defending,” he said.
“We don’t have to leave many spaces. Zanaco will always capitalize on spaces. I think we have done that in training; we just hope and pray that tomorrow it reflects on the pitch,” added Mumbi.
The Napsa Stars boss also confirmed that two key players will miss the match through injury.
“We have got two major injury concerns in Rally and Sichalwe, who are not going to take part in this game, but of course we have got other players who will have an opportunity to showcase what value they can add in the absence of Rally and Sichalwe,” explained Mumbi.
