Congolese striker, Andy Boyeli defeated FC MUZA’s Andrew Phiri, who earned the young player title, as well as teammates Joshua Mutale to win the Zambia Player of the Year award for the recently concluded 2022–23 season.
With 18 goals this year, the Power Dynamos forward also became the MTN Super League’s leading scorer.
Boyile, Power’s direct replacement for Kennedy Musonda, who left Power to join Tanzania’s Yanga FC during the January transfer season, said that he was excited to win the two awards and promised to even do better next season.
“I am very happy for myself and even the support I got from the club and the supporters, I promised to do even more next season,” he said.
He attributed his achievement in the season to the hard work and support he received from the technical bench led by coach of the year, Mwenya Chipepo.
