Rachael Kundananji’s form over the last year has positioned her as a strong candidate to be Real Madrid’s next striker.
She found the back of the net 25 times in the Spanish women’s topflight last season, narrowly missing out on the Golden Boot to Levante UD’s Alba Redondo.
On Sunday, she scored and assisted in Madrid CF’s 4-3 win over Levante. That moved her tally this season to 6 goals in 10 matches in Liga F.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid Femeni has been looking to sign a striker in order to close the gap on European champions FC Barcelona Femeni.
Los Blancos has been tipped by multiple fans and pundits in Spain to consider Kundananji, which could be a huge statement.
They have suffered 12 consecutive defeats to FC Barcelona in El Clasico matches.
Earlier this year, Kundananji brought an end to Barcelona’s 64-match unbeaten run in Liga F. She scored a brace in a 2-1 victory over the Catalans.
This is not the first time that Real Madrid has been linked with Zambian players. They were close to signing Barbra Banda in June of last year, but the deal fell through due to the controversy surrounding the player prior to the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup.

In the most recent international outing, Barbra Banda and Rachael Kundananji both registered hat-tricks in a 6-2 victory over Morocco.
For this reason, it will be no surprise if European powerhouses like Real Madrid come chasing after their signatures.
