Canada Women’s National Team head coach Casey Stoney says facing Zambia, hosts Brazil and Korea Republic at the FIFA Series 2026 will provide her side with a valuable opportunity to test themselves against a range of playing styles.
Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team (CANWNT) is among the 48 nations confirmed for the expanded FIFA Series 2026, which will be staged during the March and April international windows. The global initiative brings together teams from all six FIFA confederations in 12 groups of four across men’s and women’s competitions.
CANWNT will compete in the women’s group hosted in Brazil alongside the hosts, Korea Republic and Zambia.
“This is an exciting opportunity to test ourselves against three quality opponents with contrasting styles,” Stoney said. “Playing in a country with such a strong football culture only raises the level, and experiences like this are essential as we continue to raise our standards and pursue our goals.”
The women’s competition will be hosted across Brazil, Côte d’Ivoire and Thailand, with all matches broadcast globally. The FIFA Series is designed to create meaningful international match-ups while maintaining balance within the international match calendar.
FIFA said the initiative also supports broader football development by offering participating and host associations experience in international event delivery, competition operations and referee development.
Match schedules for the FIFA Series 2026 will be announced in the coming weeks.
