Last season, the Zambian champions lost in the final to Botswana side Gaborone United Ladies on post-match penalties.

During the campaign, Phiri played 32 matches for the champions, scoring 15 goals while providing an impressive 39 goal assists.

At the club’s awards, she was awarded the Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, and Fans’ Player of the Season awards.

“I think I worked hard last season, and also discipline on and off the season has been key,” she said.

“From the first match of the season I had confidence, and I knew I had to work hard off the pitch to ensure I was among the best at the end of the season.”

Phiri said her goal is to now ensure she maintains her performance next season.

“Winning awards is not the end of hard work; I will work extra hard next season to ensure I can help the team more and maybe again win another award at the end of the season,” she disclosed.
