ZPL Women’s National League side ZedPro Sports Foundation are targeting promotion to the Eden University Women’s Super League when the 2025-26 season kicks off this weekend.
Assistant coach Alexander Mapani confirmed the club’s ambitions in an exclusive interview, stating that nothing short of qualification for the top flight will be acceptable.
“Our target is no less than qualification for the Premier League,” Mapani said. “To win the league would be a bonus, but we just have to qualify. We need to play in the Premier League next season.”
While expressing confidence in his squad, Mapani identified Choma Warriors and PlayForward as the main rivals for promotion.
“Looking at last season’s performances, Choma and PlayForward—considering they dropped from the Premier League—will be fighting to get back. Other than that, I don’t think we have any competition,” he added.
The ZedPro assistant coach was also upbeat about the team’s preparations, revealing they have tested themselves against top-tier opposition.

“We have had a number of friendlies with Premier League sides such as Elite Ladies Football Club, Yasa, and most recently Nkwazi Ladies,” he said. “We performed as though we were on the same level, which gives us a clear picture that we are headed in the right direction.”
Mapani urged his players to remain focused and united in their quest for promotion.
“My advice to the players is simple—let’s keep working hard and working as a team. Together, we can do it,” he said.
ZedPro Sports Foundation will be hoping to start their South Zone campaign strongly against Amezam this Saturday.
The Lusaka based side narrowly missed promotion to the Eden University Women’s Super League last season.
