Copper Queens head coach Nora Häuptle has congratulated the Zambia U-17 Women’s National Team after they secured a spot at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
The Copper Princesses sealed back-to-back World Cup qualification in style on Saturday, overpowering Benin 4-1 to complete a commanding 6-2 aggregate victory.
“Congratulations to our Zambian WU17 National Team for securing qualification for the #FIFAWWCU17 in Morocco 2025,” Häuptle who is also Zambia’s women’s football technical advisor wrote in a LinkedIn post. “A great achievement from the team, players, technical bench and FAZ.”
Beyond celebrating the triumph, Häuptle outlined a clear technical roadmap aimed at preparing the team for the global stage.
“On the Technical Advisor’s agenda to support towards the tournament is securing a preparation for the team with international high-performance friendlies to adjust to the World Cup level,” she explained.
She also emphasized the need for talent development, stating, “It is crucial to integrate our top youth players into the Senior National Team and closely accompany them during the transition of teams, roles and tasks.”
Häuptle further outlined plans to deepen collaboration between coaches across the women’s game. “We must continue developing and exchanging with our Women’s Super League and U-National Team coaches, with a refresher on our FAZ Playing Philosophy,” she said.

In addition, she proposed enhancing collaboration with Women’s Super League and Youth National Team coaches through refresher courses centered on the FAZ Playing Philosophy.
Further, Häuptle called for the introduction of Athletic Coaches and Game Analysts, equipped with specialized education, into every FAZ Women’s Super League club. This, she said, would significantly strengthen talent development at the club level and ensure a steady pipeline of skilled players feeding into the youth national teams.
