The Copper Queens will face Comoros this afternoon in the final Group C match of the ongoing 2024 COSAFA Women’s Championship in South Africa.

They are tied on three points with the Comoros heading into this afternoon’s kickoff match, with Zambia leading by a goal difference.

Both teams defeated Angola, setting up an exciting final Group C match. The winner will advance to the semi-finals where they will play against Malawi.

Florence Mwila, the Copper Queens’ coach, stated that the Comoros should not be underestimated.

“It is giving us a picture that Comoros is not a pushover this year. So, we shouldn’t relax and say because we beat them last year…. Remember the team that beat them is different from this year,” she said.

“So, for the approach game, we need to approach it with seriousness. We need to defend as a team. The Comoros are in for surprises. We had the privilege to watch the influential players and see how they were moving and shaping up. It is a different team compared to what we saw from last year; they have desire and the drive. We have to defend as a team to close the spaces that they are going to try to use to score.”
