Copper Queens duo Grace Chanda and Hazel Nali paid a visit to Lusaka-based clergywoman Prophetess Faith Temitope in their quest for spiritual healing over a lengthy illness and injury, respectively.

Chanda and Nali were unable to compete in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand.

A video featuring the stars of the Zambian women’s national team expressing their diseases to the woman of God was posted on Prophet Faith Temitope Ministries’ Facebook page on Friday.

During her act of deliverance, the prophetess added, “From today, I’ll start watching [the Copper Queens] for them [Chanda and Nali]”

During the 2022 Women’s AfCON, Chanda scored twice and provided an assist, with her performances earning her a place on the podium for the CAF Women’s Player of the Year. Hazel Nali, on the other hand, became a national hero in the quarterfinals by saving a penalty and scoring the decisive spot kick in the shootout to send Zambia to the World Cup.

Nali celebrates scoring a goal that ensured the Copper Queens to qualify for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Madrid CFF’s Grace Chanda is recovering from an undisclosed illness that she has been battling with since mid-last year. Meanwhile, Hazel Nali is recuperating from a knee (ACL) injury, for which she underwent surgery in New Zealand in August 2023.

The duo did not make Zambia’s women’s national team squad for the back-to-back Paris Olympics 2024 qualification third-round games against Ghana.

However, Chanda and Nali are now battling the race against time to get back on the pitch and merit a Copper Queen’s selection for the fourth-round home and away fixtures against Morocco in early April.
