Real Madrid host Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal matchup tonight at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Both teams have had frustrating domestic seasons. Real Madrid has fallen well behind Barcelona in the La Liga title race, and Chelsea is in a disastrously low position in the Premier League.

This is the third time in as many seasons that these two sides have faced off in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Chelsea knocked out Real Madrid in 2021 after defeating them 2-0 in the second leg following a 1-1 tie in the first leg.

However, the reigning Champions won in 2022, beating the Blues 5-3 on aggregate after a 1-3 win at Stamford Bridge and a 2-3 defeat at the Bernabeu to advance in the competition.

In their last five meetings, Chelsea has managed to win two games lost once and one game has ended in a draw.

Real Madrid will head into this fixture after suffering a 2-3 defeat to Virreal in La Liga on Saturday. They have won three times and lost twice in their last five games across all competitions.

Chelsea, on the other hand, will go into this match with a new coach in Frank Lampard who returned to the club following the sacking of Graham Potter.

The Blues have not won a single match in their last five games across all competitions, losing three times and drawing twice.

BETTING TIP: Go for goals. Both teams to score and a total of 2 or 3 goals in the match.

ODDS: 3.50
