England forward Marcus Rashford scored his first goals for FC Barcelona to secure victory at St James’ Park. Newcastle started brightly but failed to find the net, and Rashford punished them by heading home powerfully, becoming the first English player to score for Barça in the Champions League.

He then added a sensational second, firing in from distance via the underside of the crossbar. Newcastle continued to push, and Anthony Gordon pulled one back late on with a composed finish, but Barça held firm for the win.

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland netted his 50th Champions League goal to help Manchester City to victory at home, becoming the fastest player to reach the milestone in just his 49th appearance. Napoli were reduced to ten men in the 21st minute after captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo was sent off, but goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić initially kept City at bay.

Eleven minutes into the second half, Phil Foden set up Haaland to nod past Milinković-Savić. Nine minutes later, Jérémy Doku dazzled on the left, beating his markers before finishing low into the far corner to seal the points.
