Luapula FAZ Division One side Mathkat United Football Club has raised concerns over the alleged use of their registered players by other clubs without formal clearance, warning that such actions threaten the integrity of the provincial league.

In a statement issued on Monday, Mathkat United revealed that one of their players, James Kapaya, who remains registered with the club, is currently featuring for Mwense Young Stars under the name Pascal Kapaya. The club also cited John Mumba, another Mathkat player, who has allegedly been playing for Mansa Wanderers without authorization.

“We have formally written letters to the FAZ Luapula Executive Committee regarding this matter, but to date, we have not received any response or clarification,” the club said. “Our intention is not to seek attention but to protect the integrity, transparency, and fairness of the league.”

Mathkat United emphasized that with only 11 games remaining before the ABSA representative is determined, strict adherence to FAZ player transfer and registration rules is essential.

The club warned that continued disregard for these regulations could compromise the credibility of the competition, recalling that last season ended in controversy over fairness and governance issues.

“We do not wish to see history repeat itself. Mathkat United stands for fair play, accountability, and honest competition that uplifts the image of football in Luapula Province,” the statement read.

The club has since urged FAZ Luapula Province officials to act swiftly and provide a transparent resolution to the case to maintain trust in the league’s administration.
