Lumwana Radiants have turned down Green Eagles’ request to sign midfielder Charles Lubasi ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Eagles had expressed interest in signing the player, but Lumwana insist he is an integral member of their squad as they aim to bounce back to the MTN Super League next season following last campaign’s relegation.

However, BolaNews sources reveal that Lubasi is growing frustrated as he wants to play in the topflight.

“He is interested in moving to Green Eagles. I understand he wants to leave, but Lumwana won’t let him go. They have made it clear that he is not for sale. They refused to have any discussions with Eagles,” the source said.

Lubasi ended the previous MTN Super League season strongly, scoring three goals — one of them against Green Eagles — but still went down with Lumwana to the second tier.

His contract with Lumwana expires at the end of the upcoming season but he had already agreed personal terms with the Choma-based club.
