National League side, Konkola Blades have sealed super league promotion following a 2-0 victory over visiting side, Livingstone Pirates at Konkola stadium in Chililabombwe yesterday.

Blades secured automatic progression to topflight football, after Mighty Mufulira wanderers lost to Atletico Lusaka football club, to join Trident football club, who were the first to book a slot in the elite league, next football season.

Richwell Simataa and Mathews Lungu scored once in each half to lead the border boys back to the super league, having been demoted in the 2021/22 season.

The Chililabombwe based side, coached by Enos Silwimba, is second on the table with 57 points from 33 matches, 5 points behind league champion, Trident FC.

Silwimba was excited with the victory and promotion, but he was quick to mention that this is not the first time he has guided sharp Blades to the super league.

“Last time I was with the team in 2016, we won the promotion, unfortunately the team went low, but thanks to the management who called me back so that I can help the team.” he said after the game.
