Last season, at the start of the season, City of Lusaka appointed Polish coach Slawomir Cisakowski on a one-year contract and tasked him with stabilizing the squad and avoiding relegation.

He achieved his mandate, as his team finished fifth and missed out on Super League qualification on the final day of the season.

However, we can confirm that Cisakowski will not be renewing his contract with the Chilenje-based side after he was appointed coach of the top Polish side, Stal Rzeszow, in his native country.

Cisakowski told Bolanews from Poland that he wanted to stay in Zambia but that the offer he received was too good to turn down.

“City of Lusaka wanted me to stay, but I got an offer from Stal Rzeszow in Poland, and I decided to take it,” he revealed to BolaNews. “It’s a much bigger club, and the competition is on a higher level than the Super League, so it was hard to refuse.”

The Polish added that, “I enjoyed Zambia a lot and wanted to stay but the opportunity was just too good.”

City of Lusaka will be hoping to secure Super League status in the coming season, having missed out last season on the final day.
