The much-famed British-based Zimbabweans who were given national team calls in the provisional 28 men’s squad that was announced recently by Coach Baltemor Brito ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria are not going to turn up for the two matches.

The warriors face Rwanda on Wednesday before battling it with Nigeria on Sunday.

A total of seven Britain-based warriors were given the call and only Luton midfielder Marvelous Nakamba is expected to turn up for the two sets of matches.

Liverpool academy midfielder Isaac Mabaya, Wolves forward Leon Chiwome, Brentford goalkeeper Marley Tavaziva, Cardiff City’s Andy Rinomhota, Brendan Galloway, Reading’s Tivonge Rushesha, and Leicester’s Tawanda Maswanhise complete the list of six Britain-based players who are not going to turn up for the two matches.

BolaNews understands that the above-mentioned players won’t be available due to the lack of paperwork that enables them to feature for the Warriors.

The rest of the local-based Warriors are already camping in Rwanda and the foreign-based are expected today and Monday.

A source told BolaNews that the players are looking forward to being part of the Warriors squad in future endeavors and they can’t wait to be part of the team.

“The boys are all ready to come and be part of the team in the future but because of a number of reasons and logistical work, they did not manage to be here in time and that means they will have to wait a bit longer,” said a source close to the players.
