There is no doubt that a lot has changed at Manchester United FC since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure, with Erik Ten Hag taking charge this summer, there seems to be a glimmer of hope that he might just be the man to reignite a rise from the phoenix for the men in red but the question most fans are asking today is “what colour will Manchester be after the final whistle?”

While both teams will be eager to salvage all three points, you cannot rule out the possibility of a draw in this encounter where anything is possible.

Pep Guardiola has enjoyed a lot of success as manager, his dominance in the Premier League is evidence that not too many teams in the League can compete with the Cityzens.

The Spaniard has four Premier League titles but despite spending hundreds of millions of pounds on players at the Etihad, he is yet to win a Champions League trophy since leaving Barcelona.

Manchester United on the other hand may have started their campaign on a bad note but after winning four games on the bounce while beating Liverpool and Arsenal in the process, things are looking up and it is for this reason that the teams seem to be evenly matched and that in itself only makes this afternoon’s showdown more intriguing.

A victory for Manchester United will send them into the top four while a victory for Manchester City will mean they will only be a point below League leaders Arsenal.

Perhaps 45 million pounds was not enough for Haaland as he has proven to be a menace in a City shirt.

In 10 games in all competitions for his new club, the 22-year-old has scored a 14 goals and only Bournemouth —yes, Bournemouth, who lost 9-0 at Liverpool have stopped him from scoring in a competitive fixture.

Will Manchester United’s defence stop the Norwegian front man? Well, that remains to be seen, as their fans will hope that won’t be the case for a man who says he would want to score against them.

Perhaps the biggest issue at Manchester United is Christiano Ronaldo’s inability to convert the chances created for him, with his only goal coming from a penalty kick in the UEFA Europa League, there is no doubt that the 37-year-old has the ability to make the difference when he’s at his best.

In their last five meetings, both City and United have won one two matches each with one ending in a draw, however city heads into this afternoon’s fixture with their heads high having won the last two matches.

Who will reign supreme when the two square off at the Etihad?
