Some fans are keen on seeing Zambian center-forward Patson Daka lead the line for the Red Devils at Old Trafford next season.

Daka’s future at Leicester City has been the subject of much speculation over the last few months. The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from the East Midlands club next summer.

Additionally, Brendan Rangers’ sacking on Sunday leaves Daka’s future hanging in the balance.

The deadly striker managed 15 goals in 37 starts under Brendan Rogers, including a club record six in Europe.

Manchester United, on the other hand, have continued their search for a long-term replacement for the iconic Cristiano Ronaldo.

Nigeria’s red-hot forward Victor Osimhen and Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time top scorer Harry Kane have stood out as the favorites.

Top fan explains why Man U should sign Patson Daka

However, a Manchester United fan @SFA_Mirza believes the club should be looking elsewhere, particularly at Chipolopolo forward Patson Daka.

The Red Devils fan rates Daka very highly, specifically pointing out the striker’s prolific goal-scoring days at RB Salzburg.

@SFA_Mirza wrote, “I believe [Patson Daka] is the striker [Manchester] United should look at if Leicester City go down or a swap with Maguire. Look at Daka’s games at Salzburg rather than Leicester City, who [have been] generally poor.”

His tweet sparked debate among fans, with some believing the Zambian is not good enough to play for the Red Devils.

But in justification for his suggestion, the fan reminded others that Daka had scored 68 goals in 125 games for Salzburg, almost the same number as Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

“At Salsburg in 125 games 68 goals….. Do you also recall Carlos Tevez league goals at West Ham b4 United signed him? Just 6 league goals ….and he scored 18 league goals when he signed for us the first season.”

Patson Daka celebrates his first Premier League goal at the King Power stadium.

Daka is also remembered by United fans when he came off the bench to score his first Premier League goal in Leicester City’s 4-2 win over Red Devils in 2021.

Meanwhile, having gone seven games winless, Leicester City is battling relegation. They are currently in the drop zone on 25 points with only ten games to go before the season ends.

If they are relegated, it is expected that they will lose the majority of their star players, as other Premier League clubs will be looking to sign the likes of Daka, Youri Tielemans, and James Maddison who have been sought after by some top clubs in the recent past.
