Chealse FC dominated a Week 5 English Premier League match against West Ham at the London stadium, winning 0-3 on Saturday afternoon.
Four minutes into the game, Enzo Maresca’s team seized the lead with a fast free kick that caught the Hammers off guard. Jadon Sancho set Jackson free down the left, and despite the tight angle, he cut into the area and slipped his shot between the goalkeeper’s legs to give his team the lead.
Chelsea soon dominated play and generated numerous opportunities, and 14 minutes later, Jackson scored again to complete his brace courtesy of a Moises Caicedo assist when he sent a straight pass down the middle to him to beat Alphonse Areola with a left-foot strike.
The brace meant Jackson has now scored 21 goals in 50 Premier League appearances. He has four goals in five games so far this season.
The second half finished with the Blues ahead, and a minute after the restart, Jackson led the charge and then sent a reverse pass to Cole Palmer, who made no mistake to thump it home from outside the box to extend Chelsea’s advantage.
The Hammers had their moments at the end of the game, but the inclusion of Christopher Nkuku and Jao Felix, who replaced Jackson and Palmer, created additional problems. Felix had two slightly off-target shots, and he could have scored.
Following the win, Chelsea has ascended to second place with ten points from five games, two points behind leaders Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Julen Lopetegui’s side has plummeted to 14th place in the standings after losing their third home game this season.
