There is no doubt that the legendary number 7 came as a hero but might leave the English Premier League side as a villain.
Cristiano Ronaldo has had an illustrious career that has seen him break records and therefore cement his place in the history books as one of the greatest of all time.
Most footballers could only dream of having a career like his but his return to the Theater of Dreams has become a nightmare and in an attempt to try and clear the air and provide fans with an accurate description of the situation at United on Talk TV’s Piers Morgan Uncensored show, he might have let the cat out of the bag, therefore, creating a frenzy on social media.
Ronaldo highlighted how instrumental Sir Alex Ferguson was when he returned as a prodigal son, 13 years after leaving for Real Madrid: “Yes, I did. I spoke with him, He said to me, ‘It’s impossible for you to come to Manchester City. And I say, ‘OK, Boss’. So I took the decisions and I repeat with very, I was with a conscience that it was a good decision.”
Despite being away for over a decade, Ronaldo stated that nothing changed in the time he was away because the club made zero progress.
“Piers, to be honest when I signed for Manchester United, I thought everything was changed because it’s 13 years,” he said. “I was surprised, in a bad way, let’s say in that way because I saw everything was the same among other things.”
Meanwhile, in a statement released by Manchester United on Friday afternoon, the club says it has initiated appropriate steps to respond to the six-times Ballon d’Or winner.
“Manchester United has this morning initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview,” read the statement. “We will not be making further comment until this process reaches its conclusion.”
BolaNews, however, understands that United has resolved to issue a comprehensive statement after the World Cup to allow the forward to concentrate on his international duty with Portugal in Qatar but it remains to be seen if the relationship between the two will be the same again.
