Dynamos demolish Atletico Lusaka to win second league match

Kabwe Warriors defeated Zanaco 2-0 to move into second position on the log with 12 points, four behind leaders Zesco United on 16 points.

Power Dynamos outclassed Atletico Lusaka by beating the classy Bad Boys 5-nil  to record their second league victory of the 2024-25 season. 

Ahead of the Week Seven fixture, Dynamos were coming from a 1-2 home defeat against Green Buffaloes while Atletico registered a 2-1 victory over Nkana FC at Nkoloma stadium.

Oswald Mutapa badly needed a victory considering that Aba Yellow had gone five league matches without a victory, picking up four draws with one defeat. 

Austin Muwowo, who scored a brace opened the scores for Power in the 5th minute of the first half before completing his double in the 55th minute of the second half.

Other scorers included Kondwani Chiboni 29′ Dominic Chanda 85′ and John Soko, who headed in from a Jacob Kaunda cross to comdemn Atletico to further misery 5 minutes into additional time. 

Dynamos have moved into 5th place, while Atletico Lusaka slide down to 8th after this heavy defeat.

In Lusaka at Sunset Stadium, Kabwe Warriors defeated home side Zanaco by 2-0 to move into second position on the log with 12 points, four behind leaders Zesco United on 16 points.

At the same venue FC MUZA silenced Green Buffaloes by an Andrew Phiri penalty in the 75th minute of the tightly contested affair. 

In Choma, ten-man Green Eagles punished Nkana FC via a 2-1 home victory to place the ZNS side 5th on the league standings while Kitwe giants, Kalampa drop to 16th on the log. Nkana have now recorded a consecutive defeat on the road having lost 2-1 to Atletico Lusaka last Sunday.
