Chelsea ended Tottenham Hotspurs’ unbeaten start to the Premier League season and earned Mauricio Pochettino a resounding 4-1 victory on Monday night.

Dejan Kulusevski gave Ange Postecoglou’s side the lead six minutes into the game.

However, Cristian Romero was sent off in the 33rd minute and Cole Palmer scored from the resulting penalty.

Tottenham also lost Micky van de Ven and James Maddison to injuries, while three goals were disallowed by the video assistant referee.

They were later reduced to nine men soon after halftime, when Destiny Udogie was also shown a red card.

The numerical advantage worked in Chelsea’s favour as Nicolas Jackson scored in the 75th minute before completing his hat-trick with two stoppage-time goals to secure the Blues’ London derby victory.

The 22-year-old became the first African player to score a hat-trick for Chelsea in the Premier League since Samuel Eto’o achieved the feat against Manchester United in 2014.

Jackson has now scored five goals in eight starts in his ten Premier League appearances for the Blues.

The win moved Chelsea into 10th place with 15 points after match day 11, while Spurs remained second with 26 points.
