Brighton share a point each with 10-man Arsenal to maintain unbeaten run in the Premier League

Brighton & Hove Albion maintained their unbeaten start to the Premier League season on Saturday, drawing 1-1 with 10-man Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners dominated the first 25 minutes of the game, but Fabian Hürzeler’s side gained confidence and defended well, creating a few opportunities.

However, a long ball up the pitch proved to be the difference, as Saka beat Lewis Dunk in the air to send Kai Havertz through on goal, allowing the in-form German to score the opening goal for Mikel Arteta’s side in the 38th minute.

In the second half, Arsenal was reduced to 10 men after Declan Rice was sent off for a second yellow card for a foul on Joël Veltman.

Brighton quickly took advantage of the extra man, with João Pedro slamming home a rebound to level the score in the 58th minute after Yankuba Minteh’s short was saved by David Raya.

In the end, it was a point apiece, giving both teams identical records of two wins and one draw in their three league games before the international break.
