Brighton have won their past three matches at Emirates Stadium in the league and cup

Prior to the start of the season, many Arsenal fans across the globe, would not have believed their team would be a pertinent part of the title narrative.

After enjoy majority of the campaign on top the table, qualifying for the Champions League now feels like a mere consolation for the London based side.

Arsenal’s 3-0 loss today implies that Manchester City might win the title if they defeat Chelsea, the following weekend. It was a timid performance from Mikel Arteta’s men who could not quite get a foothold of the game.

City will lift the title next Sunday in front of their own fans if they beat Chelsea at home, even if Arsenal defeat Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday. However, if the Gunners lose against Forest, City will already be crowned champions on Saturday.

If Manchester City were on the driver’s seat, Arsenal are definitely not passengers in the vehicle heading to the title.

Arsenal fans will take plenty of positives from the young gunner’s team that delivered beyond expectations. They may not get the biggest reward from their efforts but should walk around with their heads high.

The win lifted the Seagulls above both Aston Villa and Tottenham into sixth on 58 points, four behind fifth-placed Liverpool with one game in hand.

The maximum number of points Arsenal can score is 87, while City have 85 with matches against Chelsea (home), Brighton (away) and Brentford (away) to come.
