South African star responds to the labeling of the PSL as a “farmers league”

Teboho Mokoena of Mamelodi Sundowns believes it is impolite to refer to the South African league as a “farmers league” due to Sundowns’ dominance.

The South African midfielder attributes the team’s current performance to good coaching and hard work. He claims that the impression that Sundowns have it easy in the Dstv Premiership because it is a “farmers league” is false.

“He (Rulani Mokwena) watches one game four times, so you can imagine. “Even the training sessions, we watch together, we analyze together, and we make corrections together after the games; in every game we play, every player has corrections,” he disclosed.

“You have to go home and watch your games so that you can analyze the next day, so there’s a lot of work to do at sundown.”

Mokoena claimed that those who refer to the South African League as a “farmers league” are unaware of the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes, both individually and collectively.

“We do a lot of work behind closed doors; that’s why they call it the Farmers League, but no, it’s not a Farmers League.” “We work so hard that people think it’s too easy for us,” he said.

Masandawana signed Mokoena from SuperSport United during the January transfer window, and he has made 22 appearances in all competitions, including 17 starts in 18 league games.

They are topping the DSTV Premiership with 49 points from 19 matches and are unbeaten in the league so far this season.

Sundowns have won the South African league seven times consecutively since the 2013-14 season.
